Beautiful and substantial

I got this to replace the flimsy swing on the porch of my new house. It's beautiful and substantial, a real piece of furniture. I paired it with a teak Lutyens bench and the combo works. I didn't take off any stars for two things that could make this even better. 1) The wood glue they sent was hard, so I had to go to the hardware store for a bottle before putting the swing together. (As a woman in her 60's, I had no trouble putting it together by myself.) 2) The screws are visible in the holes that seemed to have been made for wood plugs. I got wood filler to cover the screws and make the surface flush.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Teak Chippendale Double Swing - 60 Inchea How much does it weigh? Thanks

The weight of this swing is 48 pounds

  • Can you adjust the length of the rope?

Thanks for your interest in our Chippendale swing.

The ropes included with the swing are approximately 11ft long.  They are not adjustable.

If you require shorter ropes, you can always add some knots to them.

For longer ropes, you can add a loop of chain at the top where it hangs from.  Then hang the ropes from that loop of chain to give you more length.

Alternatively, you can choose to swap the ropes out for chains or different ropes which can be purchased elsewhere.

Please let us know if you have further questions.

  • I would like installation instructions for my swing. I bought 6’ chipendale teakwood swing

For mounting into wood beams or joists, you can use 2 eye lag bolts (bolt with an "O" at the end) that's rated for sufficient weight.  Screw those into beams/joists.  Then use two 'S' hooks or carabiners to hang from the eye bolts, and hang the ropes from those.

There are also some swing hanging kits sold on places like Amazon that may suit your application. These typically use carabiners that hang from the O-mounts.

Here’s an example, and they include videos and instructions showing the installation:  https://www.amazon.com/BETOOLL-Capacity-Hangers-Playground-Outdoor/dp/B0B73WCJ1N?th=1

Here’s another version that includes suspension springs as well:  https://www.amazon.com/Stainless-Hanging-Rotating-Hammocks-Sandbags/dp/B08C7T781J

We hope this helps, and please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
