These benches are based on the famous design of Sir Edwin Lutyens, one of the most influential and important of all 20th century British architects, which were originally conceived for the garden at Little Thakeham near Storrington, West Sussex, can be found in parks all over the world. This bench reflects the classical, symmetrical style for which Lutyens was known, beautifully enhanced by the natural beauty of the teak wood.

    This bench is made from solid teak wood and very sturdy.Ā  It can hold 700 lbs

    It can be used outdoors year round.

  • Can 8this be stained darker color or painted?

    The bench comes with a hand rubbed wax finish applied to it.Ā  This wax will wear off naturally when left outside exposed to the elements.Ā  It can take up to 3 to 6 weeks depending on the environment.Ā  Ā You can speed up with process by washing it with hot soapy water.

    Once the wax is gone, you can stain or paint it.
