  • How does the waxed finish affect the weathering process outdoors? Is there any additional maintenance required in the future? Thank you!

    The waxed finish will wear of within a few weeks when the piece is left outside exposed to the elements.  At that point, the teak wil begin turning a silvery grey patina which many people prefer.  There is very little maintenance required.  The teak can be occasionally washed with soapy water or sealed with a quality teak sealer such as SEMCO brand if you choose to keep it looking honeytone colored.  For more details, see our blog post about caring for your teak:  https://chicteak.com/blogs/news/teak-care-instructions
